Mathieu Gautreau is a Licensed Psychologist who obtained his Master’s Degree of Arts in Clinical Psychology from the Université de Moncton in 2011. He began his career at the Correctional Service of Canada where he completed regular psychological risk assessments to assess the risk of reoffending. He also provided assessments/interventions for a variety of mood disorders, anxiety disorders, emotional dysregulation, impulsivity, adult attention deficit disorders, and personality disorders. Following this he made a transition to the Dr. Georges L. Dumont University Hospital Center from 2014 to 2017, where he acquired a variety of experience in the field of health psychology; he provided psychological services to clients suffering from a wide range of chronic illnesses, including but not limited to chronic renal failure, chronic pain, oncology, as well as inpatient services.
Mr. Gautreau recently joined the Maritime Psychology Clinic in September 2017, where his primary areas of interests will include the assessment and treatment of adult psychopathology, including mood disorders (depression, bipolar disorder), anxiety disorders, trauma-related disorders (post-traumatic stress disorder), adult attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder, personality disorders, impulse control and disruptive disorders, pain management, chronic illness, and grief.
Mr. Gautreau’s approach to therapy combines research and evidence-based practices, careful consideration of each individual’s personal needs, and the presenting problem. For the most part it incorporates elements of cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, schema-focused cognitive therapy, and mindfulness-based techniques.
Mr. Gautreau provides services in both French and English.

Mr. Caleb Young MASP
Caleb Young completed his bachelor degree in psychology at the University of Prince Edward Island in Charlottetown in 2018. He completed his master’s degree from Mount Saint Vincent University’s school psychology program in Halifax in 2020. In 2024, he obtained his licence as a psychologist. He joined Maritime Psychology in 2026.
Caleb has previous experience working in both public and private sectors. He worked for the Anglophone South School District on an Integrated Service Delivery Child & Youth team. Here, he provided individual consultation, assessment, and intervention for children and youth experiencing learning, cognitive, social-emotional, and behavioural challenges. More recently, Caleb provided similar psychological services while working at the Clinic of Applied Psychology.
Caleb is passionate about working with and supporting children and adolescents. He offers a variety of assessment and treatment services for youth and their parents. Children and adolescents are Caleb’s primary demographic for assessment and interventions, but he can also provide some of these services for adults as well. His interests include learning disabilities, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, and behaviour management. In assessment and intervention, Caleb favours an eclectic approach using a biopsychosocial framework individualized to the needs of each client. He is a strong advocate of adhering to research-supported, evidence-based practices along with preventive approaches. He believes collaboration, consultation, and psychoeducation are fundamental to effective psychological practice.
